So this week was a good one! we put baptismal dates for the family Perez yasso. I really enjoy visiting them and always it´s a pleasure to teach them. The only problem is that it´s a fairly big family and it´s hard to teach for understanding for every single family member. But God works miracles so I´m not worried. I really enjoy being with my new companion he has a real want to work and we have accomplished a lot with what we have. We worked without planners all week long. It was a little bit of a struggle but we managed. We found a guy named Emilio and he is a GREAT guy! He has been really receptive and after one time in church he has expressed a little interest in getting baptized. I have never heard of another story more escogido in my entire life.

At investigators house. He has tons of records

So this week in my studies I have concluded there are a couple things that we need to fulfill something from God. First it´s faith, We have to begin somewhere. second we need to be worthy. I like to compare all this to electrical power. God has infinite power so we can do anything through him. It all depends on us. So let´s imagine a battery with a little outlet. First we need to use some faith and plug it in. Then we have a cable that conducts this electric current. The worthiness is the cable. Depending on our level of worthiness will depend on how much power we will recieve. We could have a lot of faith but if we aren´t worthy it´s not going to be a lot. But if we are worthy but don´t have faith the power isn´t there. So we need to be worthy and excercise our faith that we can recieve these blessings at the maximum level and be instruments in the hands of God. I love you all and I know that the church is true. I know that God wants us moving and moving uphill is how this life will feel. But if we keep going we are improving. Even though we might be filled with mistakes. An apostle said that we can "reclaim" all our sins just like a junkyard is reclaimed to make a park where families can go to enjoy an evening. I know this to be true and I also know that God is ever patient to help us in our problems. He will never take them away but in his own timing he will show us the strength that we now have and what we have accomplished with his help.

We helped out one of our golden investigators with his creamery! It was pretty fun! :D

So this week was a good one and I can´t really complain. So This week we had a Mission tour and we had it with Elder Nash! A seventy so we were really blessed to have him here in our misión. I also really appreciated the talks that he gave and the inspiration that he gave me. He gave handshakes to every missionary in this particular tour so I felt pretty special. When we were working after I was working on splits with Elder Reynoso. We worked his área until the second part of the misión tour. But when we were contacting somebody about 4 yards away a lightning bolt struck and I freaked out a Little bit because it was the first time that has every happened! This week we had a weird sun ring thing going on. And it was pretty cool to see! But the thing is there is so much spiritual darkness in Mexico that everyone well maybe not everyone but a lot of people thought it was something like the virgin . . . . it´s a ring people! But it was all good. We found a huge family this week and they are really looking good! I am really excited to teach them and to make that family eternal. The only problem is that it´s a little difficult to in the room when we want with a baby that always screams or a drunk grandpa that always walks in so we´ll see what we can do. I got a new companion and his name is Elder Espronceda and he seems ready to roll and to work hard.

This week I had the opportunity to listen to Elder Nash and to receive a Little bit of revelation and some hype. I really liked it when he said to us that he would choose some of us to read our favorite scriptures about Jesús Christ and I really liked what everyone had for their scripture. But then I realized that I didn´t really have a good scripture that was my favorite. But then I looked for one and I found one in romans that I have memorized in Spänish but you guys can look it up in English really quick but here it is in Spanish "Dificilmente alguien muere por un justo con todo osara morir por el bien, Mas Dios demuestre su amor para con nosotros en que pecadores aun Cristo morió por nosotros." It´s in Romans 5 and I really love this scripture about how much Christ and God really love us and how willing he is to do anything to get us back to the presence of our Heavenly father.

I love you guys and I hope for the best and the most wonderful week every! OF ALL TIME!

For those who don’t speak Spanish

Romans 5:7-8
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Well this week was a good one and I can´t really complain but the fact that not a whole bunch of people went to church made me a little. . . . . . frustrated. I tend to be a little gullible and I tend to believe everyone. That´s hurting me a little here. Here in mexico lying is a . . . . . Talent that everyone seems to have. When they say I´ll go by myself or I´ll be here tomorrow morning. They won´t go and they won´t be there. It´s a little hard at times but we work it out. So us as missionaries need to go for every single investigator and bring them to church . . . . That was something that I didn´t expect to do coming here but I have to do it. This upcoming week we have a baptism planned for angel. And he was a present from the Hermanas. So he has a work that is a little intense and he can´t leave at all in the morning and so he´ll be getting baptized in our ward where he can go. Also we have found 2 familias that are 6 persons each. I am really looking forward to see what they can learn and do this upcoming week. This last sunday they were. . . . busy and couldn´t go to church but I am making it a point and bringing them to church seeing them in white and a year later getting sealed as a family. It´s a goal of mine and also of my companion. So this week we had interchanges with the zone leaders and I got put with a riverton guy. . . . It was awesome. I love that guy! he´s so funny :D. also I got to play basketball. . . . . and I schooled everyone ;) and more than that I had a lot of fun :) It rained all week long. . . . and it rained HARD every single day this week! It was refreshing and some days a little humid.I saw the funniest bumper sticker of all time. But I´m still debating whether I should put it down or not due to you guys might die of laughing. . . . I´ll save it for later.

So this week I have been reading in the chapter of Romans in the bible. I thought since I haven´t read the new testament all the way through I might as well start. I am reading in chapter 8 and it has a lot of stuff having to do with "being carnally minded is death and to be spiritually minded is life" kind of stuff but at the very end of the chapter is my favorite part. It talks about how afflictions and tribulations can´t seperate us from God´s love. And then right after it says that nor life nor death, nor anything above or below the heaveans can seperate us from being loved by God. I really enjoyed reading this. I know that there is nothing that anyone can do that can seperate us from the love of God. I also know that he is always ready to recieve us with open arms all we need to do is go unto him. I have felt his love and I never want to leave it. There are too many blessings and too many things to share with other people than leave. I love you all so much and I wish you all a good one :D

So this week was. . . . . . A week. Mexico is really big on mother´s day and trying to get people to go to church was a little bit of a difficulty. And then you had that normal catholic mom that told us her son wasn´t there after we saw him go in his house but what´re going to do. We´ll see what we can do with that lady -_-. Next week should be a really successful one and we should find and get a lot more people in church this upcoming week. So this week we had rain every single day this week. Well it would be super hot all day in the morning and then all of a sudden rain clouds would roll in and pour! And that happened every single day of the week. . . . . I can´t complain at all. It felt nice to have some cold water and well. . . rain. I saw one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my entire life. . . . well ok it´s really hard to beat grandpa with a fish hat but it gets close. On the side of a van it said "London cleaning service" and right below it "Bloody good cleaning service" I have no idea why london is here cleaning up mexico but if they´re doing good stuff then I can´t say no.

My sweet new Mexican tie.

This week was so much better but at the same time very difficult to handle. We had so many people that could have gone to church but didn´t go. But next week should be a good one with all the possible people we could bring. This week was a little hard and very strengthening. I was able to see things in my own person and also lots of things to improve on. Sometimes we have a huge list of things we need to improve on and it never seems to end. But that´s the thing that is the reason why we have this life. Is to slowly one by one check off every single thing on that list so that we can become perfect like our Father in heaven. I testify of this and some parts of the list are harder than others and others have sub problems and consiquences but without those consiquences we wouldn´t realize what we need to do.

My Zone

I love you all and I hope the best week for you guys :D

So this week I learned quite a bit! A little interesting but pretty good stuff. This week we had a meeting for all the district leaders and it was pretty dad gum awesome. I really enjoyed the learning and the fact that I learned how to make a swan out of an apple. I am enjoying mexico right now. . . . . Because it´s not that hot now it´s raining all the time. And. . . . I . . . . Love it. I was asked to give a blessing to one hermana in my district and she said that spanish or english would be good but asked for english. . . . I couldn´t do it. It was SO HARD. All I talk is Spanish and that´s it! Like what in the world. I have a warning that I probably won´t be able to speak english when I get back home but it´ll all come in time. . . . . I hope.

I can´t really remember what happened this week besides the fact that we worked hard and got everything done we needed done. But I have a pretty good spiritual thought this week. So I was reading in Hechos . . . . . Acts sorry. But in there it says a story about Paul. He was jailed and was being accused and beaten. He was then shown a dream that God needed his testimony in Rome. I was thinking that God was going to open all the doors and let him go free. But that is not what happened! There was a group of people that weren´t going to sleep or eat with him still alive. A person that was a friend of Paul let the judge know and the judge sent him to Rome. . . . . He was still in jail but he was in Rome! And it turns out that the new judge was interested in what Paul had to say. The ways of God will never be known by anyone except the prophet. All we can do is know that he has a plan and that this plan will be perfect for each and every one of us. We just have to be willing to submit to him and to answer his call to be a disciple of Christ. I know that even though I don´t know the path that God has set I just have to put my boots to the line and keep walking. I must ACT and DO in faith and know that God knows. I don´t need to know only that someone that is more perfect than me does. I testify of this. That God cares what we do and he won´t abandon us. Only we abandon him. And sometimes that feels really bad and if it didn´t we wouldn´t know that we abandoned him or we don´t need to do anything more. I love my savior. I love God and I love the plan and the love for everyone he has :D

HAVE a good week everyone

and to family I will be calling you on skype this sunday at well after 5 :D so be ready to see my beautiful face in live :D

So this will be a double week report from your friendly neighborhood missionary. So this week was pretty good I´m not going to lie! We had a fun time looking around for people in the burning sun! Wow it was hot this week for some weird reason. So this past week we were walking around all normal and then we walked by a soccer court (it´s made of cement so it has to be a court) and the kids there all asked me where I was from and they all thought it was SO COOL that I was from America. It was the funniest thing because there were so many little kids gathered around me and my companion. And now every time I pass by there I find one of those kids and they always say hi. What a great missionary opportunity. This week I had my first interviews as a district leader for baptisms in the district. Really interesting stuff I almost messed it up! haha but don´t worry I fixed it. So there is a missionary mom here in my area and my companion once asked her if she felt alone. And she said that she didn´t feel alone at all! That gave me a little comfort because you guys back home don´t have to feel alone. I thought that was nice of God to give me that experience. So there was something really really really interesting that happened this week. We were walking all normal and I look to the side and up the street a little and there was a total gangsta with a rifle chillin on his shoulder . . . . . . I didn´t feel like I was going to die or anything but I sure thought HOW COOL! so normal. So this week we had a lot of oranges to eat and one that I ate had a lot of seeds and I spat out one of the seeds off to the side and it made it into a bucket. Naturally I had to say buckets.

So this week we got a baptism and I was really happy to have that blessing from God. She turned 9 the day before her baptism so that means she was a convert baptism. I am not going to complain at all. And the thing that I really enjoyed this week was even thought someone has struggles does not meant he gives up and doesn´t want to bless someone. We talked to a person this week and he mentioned that he was going to be blessed because he was a bad guy. That is so not true. God wants to bless you but when we are disobedient he can´t give us a reward. That is why he loves it when we follow the commandments. It gives him the opportunity to bless us! I keep working every day to make myself worthy of his blessings and want every day to be happy. I will someday reach the point of happiness no matter what. But when I say that I know that God would just give me a trial and then i would develop the skill. Because he wants us to work for our gifts so that we don´t forget them easily. I know that God knows what we need and how we can get it and keep it. We just need to trust him and what he´s doing so that we can grow. The greatest challenges were given to the strongest soldiers.

Hermana's Baptism

I love you all and I hope for the best week ever! just keep swimming, keep moving forward, and BRING ME THE HORIZON......... I can relax now

So this week was a little frustrating and more in the fact that right now I am typing the fastest I have every typed in my entire life! all the computers here in the cyber don`t like myldsmail for some weird reason and I have something like 5 minutes to type to all of you so sorry for that but I will have a great report next week I promise!

Overall this week was good and bad. It feels good to be in a new area and working here in constituyentes. My companion and I don`t talk english at all. I don`t think I`ll get another american companion. I`m actually glad because whenever I start to speak in english it`s hard to revert back to spanish. District leader isn`t super stressful and I enjoy it a lot. I have another companion from (kwawila) I don`t know how to spell it so I`ll have it how it sounds. I`m back in my old zone and actually am really close to the area I served in. Nothing here looks the same but the amount of dogs in the street are about the same. I have seen packs of dogs and all of it is super normal.

Waiting up for ZL phone call on Pday

I love you all and I am so sorry I haven`t had any time to write but I will give you guys some homework. In Alma 27 and 28 there are some really good information that I got and will share next week. Hasta luego!

There has been a lot of changes this week. some big some little some interesting and others aren`t so interesting. First of all there has been a little bit of a change here in weather. It`s not too interesting but it`s something. But it did affect me and my companion! One day we were fasting and the sun was beating down on us super hardcore. We had been faithfully fasting all day and the sun depleted all our backup water supply in our bodies and food too. We had no energy. When we finally could eat once I drank some water I began to sweat and soon realized that I had no water to sweat IT WAS SO HOT. Then we were fine (for the most part) for the rest of the day. When I was with my companion there were 2 girls with the ages of 12 and 14 that came up to us out of the blue and gave us a little note to the both of us. I read the note and it says "If you trip get up! have an excelent day" Probably a message from God. And also one of the funniest things happened to my companion. We were waiting for a member at her house and an old man passes us looks at my companion and says "oonga boonga". HAHAHAHA I laughed so hard!! The people here can`t help it I guess. We got a baptismal date for some people finally and we have seen the change in them. It was really nice to see. And for the final change ME! I got changed to a different area named Constituyentes. And surprisingly enough it`s an area that was in my old zone. I`m back baby! so that will be nice. Also I was asigned to be a district leader over the only sisters in the zone and apparently the changes before president changed out the sisters because it was a little too dangerous for them. So that`s nice. My new companion is a really good guy. I can already tell we`re going to be pals. His name is Elder Marquez and he is from more north of mexico and the same place as my mom in the mission!

Pictures of my Area

So this week I was really wondering how I could internalize the general conference and how I could be a better missionary and a better person in general! so I went and studied some of the notes I took and some scriptures. and more than anything the help Jesus gves us from despair. In the talk of Jeffery Holland he talks about the story about the climbing brothers and they get stuck and the older brother has to jup to reach the ledge. He then says a prayer and jumps with all his might. He starts slipping because all he feels is the sand under his hands. He then feels the hands of his brother and is saved. I think that we have all felt the feeling of despair in our lives when we feel that we are not ever going to be better or that we can`t ever be saved but really he can save us after all we can do.

I know this to be true!! and we can apply this in our everyday lives

This week was another tough one. I have a feeling that this is the hardest area in the whole mission. But who knows. This week I saw the coolest shirt ever. It had the word yagermaister on the front and the back. it reminded me a little bit of Jadon when we would play call of duty black ops 2 zombies. Good times those were. So here in mexico we had a great heat wave come in and I just wasn`t ready for it. the sun was so strong that when I would look at my planner I couldn`t see the words since the white reflected so much of the sun. way hard. but life goes on and everything. I am not going to lie this week was a really tough one. I am waiting for the good times but then I am reminded from stats class that that principle doesn`t really exist. But God`s all powerful so I`m not too worried.

This week I really enjoyed conference. I really liked the phrase "twas I but tis not I" there is a lot of wisdom in that sentence. First he acknowledged that he had done wrong and that what he did was not what he should have done. but the best part is that he said that tis not I. The part that I seem to struggle with. He knew that he was a new person and that he had changed for the better. That what he was changed his future and I garauntee that he will not do that same thing in the future. He changed his character accepted that he did do something bad and knew that the future was his. I really need to develop this great character and hopefully I can literally forget myself here and in the future and have the future to be mine. It won`t be easy but I know that the things worthwhile are never easily gained

Con mucho amor

This week was a little hard but in the end . . . . . It was still hard but I have grown quite a bit this week and also I have been helped out a lot and increased in knowledge and more importantly testimony. this week was a pretty fun one too. We were sitting next to the "Gorditas truck" (Gordita: a super greasy filled with pig skin, cheese, salsa and onions that is SOOOO good) and a family came by and got an order of a couple of gorditas and everything. I didn`t think anything of it and then I heard "excuse me mister" (in spanish obviously) I said "yes what is it?" this little child probably was 8 years old. "are you from a different country?" I said "yes I am! what country do you think I am from?" he sat there and thought for a little bit and finally he said "Columbia?" I felt proud of my spanish but then again he was 8 years old. I said " I from the United States!" then he said " cool! bye!" super awesome this experience. haha I laughed pretty hard and I am thankful for the tender mercies of the Lord to give me such experiences and lighten my mood when I`m down. We had interviews this week by president and everything went well. My mission president is sooooo awesome! I hope to be like him in the fact that he knows when to have fun goof off a little bit and he also knows when`s the good time to work hard. He also said my area is super hard so that boosts my self confidence (without sarcasm) This week something happened I probably won`t forget ever. So if you remember the super old lady that has nothing nice to say to us she did something that I didn`t really expect but wasn`t super surprising. So we were walking all normallike and then we saw here on the same side of the street as us and both of us thought "we`re not ready for this" but I held firm and tried to ready myself. She started to say her normal swear words and all that normalness then when we got closer she switched her hand on her umbrella (it has been raining for about a week) and my companion saw this and he ran for the hills. I was completely normal. I am not going to say that I didn`t see it because I did but I just didn`t worry about it at all. She can`t really do any damage. And when I walked by her she took a swing at me with her umbrella and I kept walking normal and with the natural swing of my hand walking I  totally blocked it without any kind of problem. I just can`t help my natural ninjaness. everyone that was around was looking at us all surprised and stuff and I was just like. Normal . . . . all of it. And this week we were walking through the tiangis here and I heard something that reminded me so much of home! I heard. . . . . some four seasons and couldn`t help but sing! whoops.

SUPER ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
I want to give a quick shoutout to my dad he`s not super old but he`s not too young either ;) all that counts is that he`s still balling it  up.
Serve up everybody`s favorite dish! (favorite dish)
happy birthday happy birthday this is your day so happy birthday to youuuuuuuuu!!!

this week was a good study week that`s for sure. I learned a lot about the light and the darkness. It says a lot in the bible that Jesus christ is the light. And that all that walk with him won`t walk in darkness. I thought that everyone should be walking with him! why not? It also refers that the celestial kingdom with have a lot of glory and I always picture in my mind. In this I thought a lot about this and I was guided to a good answer. If we were to picture everyone wearing white and everyday we stain our clothes with sins big and small. In the light we are going to see every single stain and in the dark it`s a little harder to see every stain. In this I thought that some people want to be in the dark and in a way deny their sins are there because they don`t really see them. and another point they don`t want to see how many stains they have on their clothes. I then thought that it takes a lot of humility to go into the light see all the stains that are on your clothes. And it`ll be all for the better. Because when we want to clean these clothes that we have we can identify and clean thoroughly our stains that we have. In this I invite everyone into the light even though we will see everything that we have done wrong the atonement will clean us thoroughly. "even though your sins be as scarlet they shall be white as snow"

I love you all soooooooo much like the moon and back . . . . . twice!
church is true and the light. . . .  sometimes at the end of the tunnel

This week was a pretty normal one for a missionary. But that`s not to say that I didn`t have anything cool happen this week. This week I was able to put a name to the dish I absolutely love here in mexico. It`s name is called chile relleno and it is SO good! It`s basically a big pepper filled with some meat and some other stuff and a sauce that is to die for. Speaking of food there are 2 fruits that I have fell in love with here that are not available in the US and they are called jamaica (more of a water flavor but only in mexico you get it from a flower) and guayaba and that is one fruit I will miss a whole lot! this week my companion expressed to me that he really wants to get a smart car. I expressed my concern and asked why on earth would he want to have a smart car! But at that very moment passed a super jacked smart car! I didn`t think that smart cars were capable but I guess this one was super moded up! And this week I was reminded of the great named teams in the league of Grandpa when I saw a shirt that said BREW CREW on the front and it was made to be a softball shirt. I couldn`t help but think of Gpa. This week for our district meeting we began with class in english for those that didn`t know english. I was tempted to join. But during this class my companion asked how do you say "Dios tiene un cuerpo de carne y huesos" meaning God has a body of flesh and bone. But here in mexico if you ordered carne then you would get served beef. so during this the other spanish speaker that we have in our district said "oh I know this God has a body of beef and bones". super funny.

This week was a pretty tough one concidering trying to focus and as everyone (I think) knows I am really hard on myself at times. And it seems like it`s the only way for me to improve. I have been trying really hard not to be too hard on myself and at the same time try to critic myself to get better. It`s really hard to find the line there in this situation. But I am finding it I`m sure!. At times I know that we need to get ourselves moving and working but at the same time we need to realize that if we are doing the best that we are capable and having a good attitude about it. That`s the thing I think that I`m looking for is a way to enjoy my working hard and to enjoy what I`m doing. It`s really hard to find and I encourage everyone to find a way to well find it! Because it seems like everytime we practice something like an instrument or a sport we hate it so much! But why do we do it? because we want to be better! and at times it`s the way we show our passion for this thing that we`re practicing. But why do we hate practice? when we practice and we practice well we are able to enjoy the fruit that is to shine in the thing that we practice. Work is tough but we should enjoy it because without work there isn`t any blessings.

I had a good week this week and I am glad to say it rained and in some parts of here in mexico it snowed! It looks like I took some of the snow with me "Oh look at me I´m a missionary in mexico and I´m taking the snow with me! uh huh uh huh uh huh uh huh uh huh uh huh"
soy genial

Our water heater this week. .... . . . the gas hasn´t come in a while! But don´t worry . . . .  it´s safe ;)

This week we got really comfortable working here in plateros (still) and I am glad to say we are having quite a bit of success. All I can say is "it´s all in your mind" says my companion. Sometimes I know he´s right and other times he´s just saying that just to say that. This week the mexican people thought they would be funny and say racist stuff at me and my companion. I am not going to lie they came up with some pretty whitty stuff. But all in all I didn´t like it. One group said "cafe con leche!" meaning coffee with milk. You can guess who is who. and then you have the general whooligan screaming guero or something like that. Whoot! Also this week a member showed us a little game that scared me so badly! It´s called five nights at freddy´s and it is SUPER scary. It´s a good thing I´m a missionary. This week we got a couple of references and some people that we found to come to church this week and I was really glad that our hard work finally paid off. We will have a lot more people coming to church next week it´s just that a lot of family stuff came up for them and couldn´t come this week. This week we had a really depressing announcement. Our president told us that we can´t wear tie bars anymore. . . .  so I am sitting here with 7 really fancy and good looking tie bars and I can´t use a single one! It´s a little bit saddening but it´s all good in the end.

Side 1 of my sweet looking scripture case!

Side 2

This week in my studies I was reading in a lot of the parables of Jesus Christ. And I came across one that I have always liked. It was about the 10 lepers and I found something really interesting. In the scriptures (or at least the spanish ones) It says that the lepers started out far away and shouted " have mercy on us!" and Jesus said to go see a priest and they were healed. Then the one stayed and gave gratitude to God first and then gave gratitude to Jesus to help him. Then Jesus asked where were the others and then said to the leper you faith hath made thee whole. Well didn´t the others get healed too? My question was why did he say that if he knew that they were going to be healed and they didn´t give thanks. In my interpretation I think that he meant it spiritually when he said that, That he was spiritually prepared and ready and was growing in that aspect too. I know that when we read the scriptures we have to think of things spiritually and physically too.

I LOVE YOU ALL AND THE CHURCH IS TRUE!!
Let the love of God be with all of you :)

Email from March 9, 2015

So this week was super disappointing but I guess that means that I have something to learn or need to work a little harder. This week There was a lady that I tried to contact and before I said anything BEFORE I SAID ANYTHING she said "I don´t speak english". . . . . in english too! . . . . asi soy yo Guero. And it seemed like we got really rejected this week and to the point where my companion and I made a TV show of our worst rejections. Like when a contact says nothing but no to you. You suffer during the contact but after it seems very funny. This week we saw a heart and it had on this particular heart these words exactly "Ai lob u" We just about died. I have never seen something so funny! We taught a lot of families and partial member families too. There is a father we are teaching right now that has an open heart but the rest of the family is so closed it´s ridiculous. It just seems to get hotter and hotter here and I can barely handle it! but my companion seems to love the heat. I don´t know how he does it! all in a jacket too!

This week was a really good learning week for me and I am really grateful for that. I learned this week a lot about the atributes of Christ. At first I thought that every atribute was it´s own thing and if I worked on one I would have to work on the next and on the next and so on and so forth. But I learned that every single one of the atributes of Christ are all connected. To have more diligence it requires more faith and more knowledge and more humility. So working on something like Christ you´re going to need a lot more of everything else too! So that gave me hope that I could at least come a little bit closer to Christ and his example. I would hope that you guys too would try to develop more atributes like Christ and to come closer to him and to be a little happier. I know that following Christ is not easy at all times but I know that following him is what true happiness is and I plan on following him as best as I possibly can!

LA IGLESIA ES VERDADERO Y TODO PUEDEN SER BENDICIDOS EN ESTE IGLESIA DE FELICIDAD asi soy yo

I am starting to think that every week that we have a baptism we tend to have a pretty rough week! But now I´m taking it more in stride now and doing as Ammon did. The sheep are scattered and the king will kill us if we don´t bring them back so let´s go find some sheep! I love his example of when in hard times smile and prove yourself in doing something about your misfortune. So it seems I have a really good guardian angel because so far I am the only one in the mission it seems that has not had some non sickness incidents. *knocks on wood* Because this week my companion from the MTC got hit by a car. . . . he didn´t die I know that is the first thing on your mind but he is perfectly fine :). The car hit mostly his leg and he is now at the offices enjoying a good time being secretary. Lucky guy :) and something like this has happened to everyone . . . . except me. And I cannot complain one single bit. It seemed like a lot of appointments fell out on us this week! I was a little frustrated but so is life. But we did find a couple of people to bring to church and we found some good families that I know that at least one of them are fully going to get baptized. We had an appointment with a man and his family but when we went it was just him. I still am not going to complain. We had given him a restoration pamphlet and told him if he had any questions. We arrived and he had so many questions it was so great. It´s finally nice when we´re not the ones asking questions every once and a while. He felt like a member with the questions that he was asking. It felt a little weird. He´s catholic (Mexico) and he has always wondered why we have to baptize children and why do we need to confess to a priest and not God. I was happy to give answers to his questions.

Probably my favorite baptism of all time!

my spiritual thought for the week.
I am still reading in the new testament and I am reading in the book of lucas right now and I came across the story of after Jesus had taught everyone from a boat and then told Simon to fish and Simon´s response was where. I think we have to have this attitude sometimes if we are to have a net full of fish that the net is breaking. Sorry for the abruptness but I am running out of time I hope the best for all of you and want to let you know that I love you all and the CHURCH IS TRUE

Baptism of Omar

Hey I´m sorry for being short in advance but the lights went out just as I was going to send out the weekly email. . . . I am a little frustrated but it´s all good.

So I learned a couple things this week.

I learned that you can find Christ like attributes all over the book of Mormon but the thing I didn´t understand was that the Christ like attributes were shown but other people and not necessarily Christ himself. I am really happy I learned this because now I am seeing them all over the place.

I also learned in the new testament a little something in there. Christ is talking about the last day and I learned a great something about repentance. So in chapter 13 I think it was it says that when abominations start appearing like what Daniel says that you should flee for the mountains and you should not go back to get something from your house or turn around to grab your coat. I learned that with sin when we see it we need to flee as fast and as far away as possible as we can. And most of all we can´t return at all to it. This I learned and I hope that in this small email you have learned a little bit too. I hope the best for you guys and you will always be in my prayers. I LOVE YOU ALL XD

Know the good and don´t forget to choose it too :)

This week was an absolute struggle but in the end it was all good! We had a good time getting everything ready for investigators members and trying to get menos activos to church this week. And let me tell you guys. I had the worst Valentine´s day EVER!! haha but really all I thought was we have a baptism tomorrow we have a baptism tomorrow. and thank goodness we had a baptism yesterday! whoot! but I forgot the cable so I´ll be sure to get that to you guys next week. We had some people REALLY shut us down this week . . . . like really bad! haha we had a pretty good laugh from it because that´s all we can really do. I got sick . . . . . go figure. It got really cold this week and in the same week really hot. .. .  sounds like utah. but I won´t complain . . . . not at alllllllllllll. maybe a little bit . .  but only a little. so not to seem like I´m doing a lot of dangerous things but I accidently burned my hand.  . . . . but not bad at all but I was at an investigators house and that certain investigator was REALLY freaking out! haha he was like! You need to go to the doctor and you need this cream and medication and all this stuff. It was really interesting but it turns out some cold water and some voodoo cream took care of it in one day. oh and don´t forget some blessing from God that helped quite a bit.

I have 2 things to give you guys this week but the first one is a little less than the first but I want to save the best for last.

So this week in my studies I have found that God works in 3´s and I´ll explain why. My companion and I were reading a talk called divine companionship and in it, it said we have to be good companions to each other but at the same time to the spirit too. and at that moment I realized in a string of inspiration that God works in 3´s.
3 in the presidency
2 missionaries and the spirit
God, Jesus and the spirit
In Doctrina y convenios it says " in your heart and in your mind you will know the truth of all things." Heart mind and spirit
so that was a really good experience to me :)

The last experience I had and it´s a good one.
so I heard a story about a guy that did not believe at all in God not one bit he had given up all type of religion. But he was still asking for a sign from God that he was there. one night he came home a little drunk and fell asleep really fast. There was a person in front of him that said "what are you doing with your life?"
" I don´t know what I´m doing"
he then looked up and saw that the person was dressed all in white.
"why don´t  you change?"
"it´s because I don´t believe I have nothing I can believe in me"
The man in white showed his hands and said
"You dont believe in me?"
and the man could see the holes in the mans hands.

I will never forget this story and I will always remember what Jesus has done for me and I will never forget that that will be a question for everyone.
"You don´t believe in me?"
wow. . .  that´s powerful stuff.

I hope the best for you guys I love you all and remember that God doesn´t put a trial in front of us just because he wants to. God ALWAYS has a purpose.

GOSPEL´S TRUE

Alright so this week was a really weird one and a really stressing one. We had a zone switch this last Wednesday and we all took turns in an area that wasn´t in our district so I thought that was pretty cool. I really enjoyed working in a whole different area and with the newbie that was there. In this particular area there was a lot of . . .. . . Interesting people and some in the best kind of way. We had 2 people at the same time contact us! other people contacting us! it was really weird and the fact that there was 2 of them made it even better. I hope that they did well in that other area. Then I got back to my area and apparently there was a couple miracles that happened. Then we worked with a guy named Omar that needs to get married. . . . . what is this issue that seems to go around! everyone needs to get married over here! but that´s fine it´s all good. We got permission to baptize him and we made a couple of changes in his living situation so that he could have the opportunity. And then we are teaching this one guy named louis who drinks a lot and other stuff. We gave him a really good lesson on the atonement and he just couldn´t wrap his mind around the fact that no matter what he did in the past he could still be cleaned of all sin. He has the desire to change but he doesn´t think it should be this fast.  . . . . but really he´s been prepared all his life for this. :) other than that it has been a regular week. I can´t complain at all and I am really enjoying what we´re doing right now. My companion was the funniest this week! whenever he got picked to say the prayer he would say "¿es porque soy negro?" which the translation is "because I´m black?" hahah I laughed so hard this week! Man that´s my companion for ya. he keeps saying stuff like that like he said one time that someone called him the n word and he said he didn´t even flinch and his companion was really surprised and asked him about it and said what´s the problem? I´m black! hahahaha I laughed so hard.

This week I learned a huge thing in the new testament. It was about the woman who had weak blood (that´s the literal translation) and it said that she went to a lot doctors and they all gave her some type of treatment that didn´t help. It also says (in Spanish) tuvo muchisimo medico and the phrase we use "go to the doctor" also means "ir al medico" in Spanish and it dawned on me that she probably tried everything she probably was told by a lot doctors that she would never get better and that her condition was going to be permanent. But she had the faith and the initiative to only think that I need to touch the mantel of Jesus and I will be whole again. WHAT FAITH!! I think that´s a great example for us in these times that the world will tell you and get into your head that you will never be the same or you will never have the ability to do something but in reality "I can do all things through Christ" I think that I really need this mentality especially in the mission where God is ever present. It´s almost like the story of everyone getting bit by THE SNAKE and all they had to do was look at a brass snake and be healed. I feel like with that there might have been some effort needed well more than just turning a head but who knows. All I know is that the atonement is a lot simpler than people think and all they need to do is repent accept the love and at least try to do better and follow God´s will.

I LOVE YOU ALL

Email from February 2, 2015

So this week was pretty good I'm not going to lie! We lost another teacher this week and with him another investigator! We have a companionship in our district that haven't had the same investigator for more than a week and I feel really bad for them. Speaking of investigators our investigator is absolutely the hardest person ever to teach and on top of that in Spanish but that's not really that bad anymore. We had a missionary leave this week and it was hard on everybody even though he wasn't in our district. The next day we had a missionary have a panic attack and the ZL's (us) got to help him out and eventually gave him a blessing and just to make sure that everything was OK we sent him over to the ER and everything is good to go now. Besides that district B left for mexico on monday and we were handed the ZONE BALL to describe what the zone ball is is it's a foam ball with a yellow smiley face and has signatures of all the ZL's before us. We were also given the location of a secret room that supposedly has pillows that fill the room and I can't express how excited I am for the day that we go there!!! Speaking of ZL's I know you might have some questions as to what we do. We honestly don't do very much besides interview the DL's and we organize who prays and who passes the sacrament! And also since I'm a ZL I get to have a little bit of "diplomatic Immunity" for talks :) We got our flight plans today and I'm really excited to go! We have to wake up at 4:30 in the morning and our flight is at 8:30 and lasts till 2 something and that's to get to atlanta. After that I don't quite remember what we do but we have it all in paper so don't worry too much about me. Our new teacher is Hermana Steward and she is a great teacher. I can say that I have learned a lot of phrases that I'll be using on the daily. Para ejemplo there is a phrase "se le plancho!" which (as I'm told) means "you got ironed!" and that is the Mexican equivalent of "you got burned!" so I use it . . . . . . A lot. Another few phrases that the District I'm in uses is "Tengo dibs!" which is not something that we will probably won't be able to use in Mexico but it means "I have dibs" there is also hota ka which means JK and since there is a rule here in the MTC that we can't dance we will scream at each other "NO BAILANDO" if any of use start to dance. We have picked up a game that we play every once and a while called Gadianton Robbers which is a MTC version of Mafia. The people are the Lamanites, The saving angel is the 3rd nephite, The mafia is the gadianton robbers, and the detectives are chief judges. Just recently we've added a character named Teancum who is able to choose a person to kill if he himself is killed so you could say things get pretty intense! All in the appropriate time of course. I think my Spanish is pretty good for some broken Spanish but I know what it's going to be like when I get to Mexico! I won't understand a thing.

all in all it has been a normal week here in the MTC! Always remember that the gospel is true! and that it is through the trial of our faith that makes our testimony grow. So don't be disheartened when things don't go immediately well for you. Always remember that it is through Heavenly father and Christ that we can be made clean and that we can not only become like him but while we are here we can have someone to understand us and to go to for support. I know this to be true wholeheartedly.

So this week was a hard one. . . . a really hard one. I was the only one with knowledge of the area and that isn´t really the bad part. All our news either fell or changed the day I went out to work. It was really frustrating. So we started from scratch. We worked hard and found a couple possible news and it seemed harder than it should have. And the funny  thing was that we went on interchanges and Elder Demars came down to help us and the first 2 people we contacted turned out to be news. . .  I could not believe it! But all is well right now. I am actually speaking more english than I originally thought. Because I have met a lot of people that speak fluent english! There is a family here that wants to get to know you guys! They are the familia Olivo and if you can find Fernanda or Karen then you basically have the rest of the family. But they only speak spanish except Karen knows english. so be prepared to use a lot of google translate! :P Other than thay we really haven´t had REALLY exciting week this week. There is this lady here that really doesn´t like mormons or something like that because everytime we say buenas tardes she goes off! She doesn´t use one single regular word. All the words she says are some type of swear word. haha really it´s not like anything is going to happen to us . . . .  we might get hit with a broom but who knows.

This week was a really good one and I found a scripture to fight through the hard times this week it´s in Jacob 4:7 and it basically says that God gave man weakness so that they can see that they can do anything through Christ. I absolutely loved it. I would just remember that scripture every time it would get rough and I know that if I am continually trying my hardest to be the best then the Lord will give me an extra boost to achieve what I need to do here.

With all the love I can possibly give :)

So finally I can sit relax and write you guys! whooot I’m all for that! So this week was rather disappointing but I chalk it all up to be the albedrio of other people so I won’t worry too much but this means we got a lot of work for this week! So I got a new companion! His name is Elder Medina and he is from the Dominican Republic! So you could say he’s pretty cool! He played basketball and also a little bit of baseball so he’s really good in my book already! This last week we had every single person fall. EVERYONE! We had 2 coming in for first 2 coming in for second and 1 baptism and slowly one by one they all fell . . . . . I did not like it one bit. But life goes on and I guess it means we gotta work harder. We should have a lot ready to go and ready to get baptized and everything! So we just gotta find them. I’m excited to work with my new companion and we’re to work hard and get success. I’m not exactly sure what we are going to do! But I do know that we’ll get a lot of success if we just do what missionaries do. Elder Pyne got changed out and a lot of families here are going to miss him and I hope not TOO much and not talk to me! haha but more than anything I know that it’ll be alright.

So this week was kinda really hard but I’m starting to get used to the fact that it’s probably going to be like this for a very long time so I’ll just have to get used to it. I know that this change will be a good one and I know that this change will prove if I am going to do OK or really good or FANTASTIC and I am for the fantastic. I was reading the quote from coach Carter the one where it says "it is not our darkness it is our light that scares us" and I thought why not? It’s perfectly possible and if we set our minds to something we’re going to have a great potential to do anything. I really appreciate your support and the constant love that I get from you guys and I hope that you are doing really well over there.

CON MUCHISIMO AMOR
